As members of Baptists Together, we subscribe to the Declaration of Principle of the Baptist Union of Great Britain

    1. That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.

    2. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who ‘died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried and rose again the third day.’

    3. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.

Our Vision

“To joyfully live for the glory of God as we share the heart of Christ in the heart of Cornwall.”

We believe we’ve been called to serve our community, demonstrating the abundant life and joy that is offered to all through faith in Jesus, to the glory of our awesome God.

Our Values

In pursuit of our vision, we have three core values:

We’re followers of Jesus

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.’” (Matt 16:24)

We believe that the only way to joyfully live for the glory of God is to daily learn to be like Jesus, being changed into his likeness by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We’re family

We don’t travel alone on our journey through life but we travel as a family. In any healthy family you won’t find perfection but you will find a commitment to care for each other and seek the best for each other. We have committed to these values through the covenant statement that we make to each other.

  • Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, and believing that the Bible is the Word of God, and having united with this local church, we do now enter into covenant with each other ....

We agree to work harmoniously together in this church, by helping to sustain its worship and teaching, and by giving our talents and time to its activities in this coming year.

We agree to watch over one another in love, to remember each other in prayer, to help each other in hardship, to be kind in speech, to be slow to take offence, and quick to seek reconciliation.

Recognising God’s generous blessing in our lives, we commit to spreading the good news of Jesus to those in our community and, within this family of Baptist churches, to support the Lord’s mission in the world.

Finally, we acknowledge that our commitment to this covenant Is dependant on our commitment to our Saviour, and our resolve to honour him, treasure him, and glorify him, above all else in our lives.

We’re outward-looking

Because of the teaching and example of the Lord Jesus. who said, “I am among you as one who serves” (Luke 22:27), we do our best to live our lives as those who exist for the sake of others, believing that we have been blessed so that we in turn can bless others.
